Burning in Butler Township:
Controlled Burning and Open Burning:
Permitted ONLY Wednesdays 7AM - 7PM and Saturdays 7AM - 4PM
(providing these days are not national holidays)
Controlled Burning:
You do not need a permit for this type of burning IF you are burning in a fire pit or burn barrel.
Open Burning:
You WILL need a permit for this type of burn.
The burn area shall be no larger than 7' radius and no taller than 5'.
In any burning instance, you are only allowed to burn organic material and lumber cutoffs.
(no treated lumber or plywood)
No table scraps, no household refuse, no papers, no cardboard.
Permits can be applied for in person or online.
