Butler Township Recycling Center
150 W. Foothills Drive
Drums, PA 18222

  • Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon
  • Facility closed on actual Holidays

The recycling center is open to the public. Township residents along with residents of surrounding municipalities are encouraged to use the center.

Butler Township uses single-stream recycling, which means recylables do not have to be sorted. Simply drive up with your bin, box or other container of recyclable items and workers at the center will unload it from your vehicle.

Butler Township recently applied for another grant to get bins for residents to use at the center. In the meantime, anyone who uses the center is reminded of the following rules:

* All recyclables MUST be in the recycle bins provided, bagged and/or boxed. Bags and boxes will not be returned. Anyone arriving with loose recyclables will be turned away.

* The program is for residential recycling only. The township does not offer recycling for commercial businesses.

The rules will be strictly enforced and any violators will be turned away. Hours for recycling are Tuesdays from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Residents are asked not to arrive before the center opens. This causes traffic congestion on the incoming lanes.

Cooperation is appreciated and necessary for the success of the center.
